 CAR RENTAL TERMS and CONDITIONS
Valid from November 01, 2006 to April 30, 2007
Normal office hours are from 8:00AM to 07:00PM
Normal hours at the airports are from 6:30 AM to 24:00 PM
Charge of € 25,00 for pick-up and/or drop-off after normal hours applies.
An airport tax of € 23,00 will be charged by Ilha Verde directly to the clients at the airports of Ponta Delgada, Santa Maria, Terceira, Pico and Faial .
A fee of € 23,00 per collection will be charged outside of the cities with Ilha Verde or Colombis Station.
Airport Drop-off Surcharge: € 6,92 per rental if car is not picked-up at the airport.
Fuel Deposit: € 50.00
Refueling Charge: 50% premium on missing fuel
Baby seats: May be supplied on request and the cost of € 5,75 per day to a maximum of
€ 56,60 per rental will be charged directly to the client.
Passenger insurance: May be supplied by Ilha Verde at the rate of € 3.46 per day. This service will be offered at the time of vehicle pickup and charged directly to the client.
Young driver (under 23): € 2,90 day to a maximum of € 29,00 per rental
Additional Driver: € 28,75 per rental
Collecting in advance: We shall not refund, either the client or the agency involved in the booking, any unused portion of the rental contract.
Very important: The client (whether driver or not) is always responsible for a deductible in the amount of € 859,96 for group A & B; € 1032,96 for group C; € 1146,95 for group D,I,M & R; € 1246,90 for groups E,F,J,L & P ; € 2007,92 for group G,H,K&N; € 2867,88 for groups O & Q in case of a self caused accident, damage caused by acts of vandalism, theft of vehicle or any of its accessories, as long as the driver is unable to identify the guilty party.
This payment must be made, on delivery of the car, in cash (Portuguese or foreign currency) or credit card. The referred payment will be refunded to the client at the end of the rental; in case no accident has taken place, as well as no damages have been caused to the vehicle by acts of vandalism, theft of the vehicle or of any of its accessories.
This deductible can be waived upon a super CDW insurance payment directly to the company of € 9,67 per day for group A, B & C; € 10,18 per day for groups D,I & R; € 10,68 per day for groups E,F,J,L, & P; € 11,19 per day for group G; € 15,26 per day for groups H & K.
In case of accident where our car driver is found at fault, the insurance companies decline any or all responsibility for that driver of all damages caused to the hired vehicle or to third parties whenever it is detected that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol, narcotics, drugs, toxic products or by insanity of the driver. Also if the client uses the car in competitions, races, rallies, challenges, contests, bets, etc.
Even if the car's driver is not under the influence of any of the above items but by any means whatsoever destroys the car by his own fault, we shall not refund any amount for the time left to complete the rental. A new car will only be given against a large deposit to cover eventual damages that may be caused to the new vehicle.
