The resort is surrounded by gardens and overlooks Alvor beach which stretches several kilometres to the west. It is nearby the Alvor river estuary which harbours one of Portugal's most valued bird sanctuaries and also close to the fishing village of Alvor where there are numerous bars and restaurants and also the Algarve's largest windsurfing centre is located nearby.
